Village of Pilger
"The Town too Tough to Die"
Pilger, Nebraska, is perfectly settled between three larger communities. It is located in Northeast Nebraska one mile south of the Highway 275/15 South junction in Stanton County. The close proximity to Norfolk ,Wayne and Wisner makes Pilger the perfect bedroom community.
The Village of Pilger is well on its way to re-establishing the community after a devastating EF4 tornado in June of 2014. There is a new community center, convenience store, swimming pool, bank, library and more. There are several small, independent businesses and there’s even an established country market featuring handmade and homemade items. Within and around the Village, you will find available lots and acreages to build on and put down roots. Whatever your talent may be, bring it and get in from the ground up–get in on the opportunity to build a new community.
Every year in July the community gets together to celebrate Pilger days, and also hosts a sweet corn feed in August. Wisner-Pilger Public Schools is 1 of 6 schools nationally in a joint public agency called Pathways to Tomorrow. Pilger also hosts a beautiful park, and has two access points to the Elkhorn River at Turtle Hole and Red Fox areas.
