You asked for it, and we listened. In an effort to continue the Norfolk Art Center’s mission of “Bringing People and the Arts Together”, we’ve fine-tuned this Underground event to better fit 
the needs of our public.
On the first Friday of every month the Norfolk Arts Center flips upside down and invites everyone to come and get their freak on at this fun and crazy after hours event. However, in 2016, we’re changing things up a bit. We have had a great following of members and volunteers who truly made First Friday’s what they are, so we are keeping with the concept of the community event, but taking it back underground; where it all started. First Friday’s are still alive and going strong. It’s still all about live, local, original art, but we’re adapting the night to be more of an open art space for anyone to come and present their art or see what others are doing. Whatever that means to you: writing, music, poetry, sculpting, sketching… The list goes on and on! The best part is – it’s FREE to get in!
First Fridays will be open to anyone who is interested in taking part. Please let us know if you are interested, and we’ll put you on the list. There will also be a potluck for all our great culinary “volunteers” who want to share their talent with the community. With the new structure, we will need you to email Benjamin at benjamin@norfolkartscenter.org to make sure you are on the list. You can also contact him with any questions you might have.
